Anglo-Arab

A cross between a Thoroughbred and an Arabian, the Anglo-Arab was developed in Britain in the 18th and 19th centuries and has been perfected in France ever since.

The intention was to create a horse that displayed the best of both breeds; the Arab's good nature, stamina and endurance, and the speed and strength of the Thoroughbred.

The result is a horse with stamina that is athletic, fast and easy to train, making it an excellent riding and sports horse and excellent at eventing, dressage and jumping.

Tersk

A relatively new breed, the Tersk was developed in Russia in the early 20th Century with the intention to recreate the popular Strelets Arab, which had been all but wiped out in the Russian Revolution. Don, Kabardin and Arabian horses were bred with few remaining purebred Strelets Arabs, to create an extremely tough, attractive and athletic horse with the Arab's spectacular and graceful movement.

Tersks are known for their good endurance and make excellent endurance mounts. Their calm temperament, quick intelligence and graceful Arabian stride makes them excellent for dressage, and their boldness and athleticism makes them good show jumpers. They are also very fast, and frequently raced against Arabians.
